Madrid, 4 May 2010.- Meta4, , a world-class leader for human and intellectual capital management solutions (HICM) has signed an agreement with the European Doctorate in Software Engineering (EDSE) in which Meta4 will take on and train young researchers from around the world in their R&D and innovation department in Madrid. Students from Africa, Asia or India will be able to tackle real problems and offer innovative software engineering solutions working together with the scientists and developers in the company.

The doctoral grants created by the European Commission and managed by EDSE aim to internationalize university education and postdoctoral degrees for students outside the European Union who wish to extend their studies. In addition to the three-year software engineering programme at European Universities, these grants also include collaboration with R&D and innovation departments in the main European software companies.

Students can complete their doctoral studies at the Polytechnic University of Madrid in Spain, the Blekinge Technology Institute in Sweden, Free University of Bolzano in Südtirol, Italy, and in the SIMULA laboratories in Norway. This provides higher education and experience in R&D and innovation departments of high calibre. This programme is currently under evaluation by the European Commission for Erasmus Mundus qualification.
“Our objective is to enhance and facilitate training for young researchers by incorporating them into European R&D and innovation through involving leading market players like Meta4,” stated Natalia Juristo, EDSE Director at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

“Collaborating with the European Doctorate in Software Engineering is an honour for our company.
